Footpath Route Planner App Reviews

Wanted to see the distance on a few of my routes I walk or would like to try. Didnt want one of these map my run things because I dont like to have devices with me when I actually walk/run. This was very hard to use. When you tap a finish location it doesnt do anything and/or goes to the wrong place. Then tells you after 5 saved maps you have to upgrade. Ha no. Ill keep doing it the old fashioned way - drive it first.

Awesome app love that I can map out a run anywhere. Great for traveling!

No more driving around in my car to back track my miles. This is such a great app to let me know what Ive done. Get this!

I love that it knows the bike paths. Just What I needed to figure out distances, and so easy to use.

The maps and streets are beautiful, but it is frustrating to draw a map that Ive given up on the app. I have been totally unable to draw my 1 mile route through the neighborhood streets in 2 weeks of trying. The app wants to do its own thing, mostly asking me to upgrade to the elite version. It is not intuitive or user friendly. There is no help or assistance. There are more instructions in an IKEA kit to use than this app.

Great way to prep for long runs. Figure out your route. Very reliable and accurate distance.

Ive used this in several parts of the US and the maps are good - pretty spot on accurate for distances when compared to my Garmin. I wish the drawing were a bit easier/intuitive.

Kudos for drawing routes with your finger. But Minus three stars for difficult off-line map loading. The description says you can preload maps for off-line use; however, after viewing maps at home, when I actually got in the back country with no signal the maps were gone and I was looking at a blank screen behind my GPS waypoint

Footpath is great. I use it to plan out all my bike rides. Free version provides great functionality, but after using it, I upgraded to paid via in app purchase. Super simple interface, plenty of different map options, and good accuracy. Cant recommend it more highly!

This app is absolutely fantastic for planning hikes. Even though we have used other online route apps, weve been looking for an easy to use route planning app for our phones that exports GPX route files for use with our favorite iPhone GPS software (GaiaGPS). Footpath does it seamlessly. We also upload the route files to fitness apps like RunKeeper where it tells us in advance how many calories our planned hikes will burn. Wonderful! Suggested future updates: add the ability to import existing GPX route/track files for easy sharing and editing (this is Footpaths most glaring deficiency in our opinion--right now you can only export routes to other apps); make it possible to easily move starting and mid-points of a route you want to edit (right now you can only edit an existing route by deleting segments of the route starting at the end until you get to a fork or turn you want to explore and then continuing along a new path from there); and it would also be great if your routes were automatically saved to a personal account on a website maintained by Footpath so they could be more easily managed and exported to your favorite GPS and fitness apps. All that said, Footpath is pretty awesome as is and has already benefited us greatly by giving us the ability to quickly and easily plan and execute our weekly hikes anywhere we are whenever we have a couple minutes. Thank you!

This app is a wonderful alternative to running with a GPS for those who want to plan and explore new routes while still keeping track of mileage.

Works great and exactly as advertised.

Does just what you need it to do. Great for planning a run or quickly estimating sizes of buildings or areas.

Accurate GPS, has almost all routes readily accessible... mileage always ends up perfect!

This is a great app.

Accurately tracing route on this app on an iPhone6 is impossible. In addition, I (roughly) tracked a 2.5-mile route Ive tracked numerous times using GPS. This app says indicates its 1.77 miles. Worthless!

By far the best app Ive found for planning routes on the go. The drawing feature is nice but very tricky to get to work exactly. Would be better to have the ability to drag points on the route to re-route like Google Maps and Strava Routes let you do.

I love this app very much and it is simple, yet it does just about everything I want. Few questions though..Im curious how often it updates for new roads/construction. Also, if I purchase the $4.99 version will it reimburse me for the $.99 spent already? Anyways, I would absolutely recommend this!
